Dr Veronica Shepherdson – redefining the role of an educator, entrepreneur
Dr Veronica Shepherdson has never wavered in her ambition of being a teacher, a dream she has had since she was six.
Along the way, she also discovered that she wanted to become more than just a teacher.
That is why the co-founder of Global Oak Tree Scholars (GOTS) International School continued to further her studies, and last year, received her postgraduate academic degree from the International University of Entreprenology.
“I am an educator first, but I am also an entreprenologist,” said Dr Shepherdson.
“What is an entreprenologist? An entreprenologist is more than a businessman, or a businesswoman.
“We are the ones who seek opportunities and look beyond businesses and tradition.”
Asked what makes someone an entreprenologist, Dr Shepherdson said, having knowledge, experience, and the imagination to make a dream a reality.
“We have to look beyond business and tradition. If you want to open a business selling hamburgers, you must have a good product and do something that sets you apart from McDonald’s and Burger King,” said Dr Shepherdson.
“You must find ways to make it better and different. It is the same in education. We cannot keep doing the same thing over and over again. We have to be different, think outside of the box, and be better.
“That is why GOTS International School is ‘Definitely Different’, due to the way we coach our scholars.”
Dr Shepherdson said GOTS International School will introduce an Entreprenology Programme next year.
“I have had discussions with the deans of the university (International University of Entreprenology) who are helping to put the programme together.
“I am excited about what the programme can offer our scholars, moving forward.”
Apart from Entreprenology, GOTS International School offers life empowering skills to scholars, through FinancialSmart, and S.H.I.N.E.
