Getting Ready For The Big Day

Getting Ready For The Big Day

Perfection takes time and Global Oak Tree Scholars (GOTS) is making sure everything is faultless for the opening of its secondary school.

Staff have been working hard to make sure everything is tip-top for today’s orientation of the school’s first intake.

GOTS is drawing from its experience of its primary school, which opened its doors 12 months ago, to make sure everything is in place when its academic year begins on Monday.

“It is quite hectic but we want everything to be flawless,” says GOTS founder Veronica Shepherdson.

“We learnt so much when we opened the primary school a year ago and we are using those lessons to make sure the secondary school is all we promise it to be.”

Located at Plaza Jelutong, the school is the latest international school in Malaysia but is set to be a hit among those living in Shah Alam, especially Bukit Jelutong.

GOTS primary school has grown in leaps and bounds in the past 12 months and earned plenty of praises from parents for its innovative style of teaching which blends eastern and western philosophies.

“Our focus is on activity and creative-based teaching which is heuristic in nature. This enables our scholars to discover or learn something for themselves,” says Shepherdson.

“The aim is to ensure scholars are well supported socially, emotionally and physically, and take the measured risks necessary to support high academic achievement, develop passion and build character.”
