 Gerard Abisheganaden

 Global Oak Tree Scholars

Gerard is the head of academics and curriculum of Global Oak Tree Scholars (GOTS). Gerard leads a team of dedicated staff in articulating the GOTS education to inspire young people to thrive and excel with grit, compassion, humility and integrity; elements that will empower them to become creative global citizens.

Gerard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Audio-Engineering from the Metronome Academy of A/V Engineering in Melbourne Australia. He is also a graduate of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in classical guitar and voice. Gerard’s teaching qualifications include a Diploma in Teacher Training (TETRA) from City and Guilds London, and a Diploma in Teacher Training (C.I.D.T.T) from Cambridge International. He has also undergone a Master Class in the Train the Trainer programme (MCTTT). In addition, he is a practitioner and trainer in Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy/Time-line therapy.

Gerard’s teaching credentials span 25 years and include lecturing at the Ocean Institute of Audio-Engineering and at the HELP Institute of Performing Arts. Gerard also teaches at one of the Cambridge English for Life branches. He has taught British History, English, English Literature and was Head of Events and Music at REAL International school.

Thereafter, he joined the training team at REAL to train teachers in the Cambridge methodology of Teacher Training (CIDTT). Gerard has also conducted training programmes in the area of communications for corporate organisations.

Gerard is an accomplished musician who has been actively involved in the music industry for the past 42 years, performing all over Malaysia and parts of Japan and Australia.

Gerard’s passion for music is equaled only to his commitment in education. He is a ‘hands on’ teacher and this has enabled him to build a warm rapport with parents, teachers and students alike to achieve goals in a manner that is creative and compelling. “Do or do not, there is no try”- YODA (The Empire Strikes Back)
