GOTS breaking new ground with virtual graduation
It is only through adversity that we learn how adaptable we are.
At the start of the year, no school would have thought they would be conducting online classes.
But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, that’s how it turned out.
While some struggled, our coaches at Global Oak Tree Scholars (GOTS) International School took up the challenge and overcame a stop-start academic year by adapting to online coaching.
Now, they have another task ahead – organising a ‘virtual graduation’ for the pre-primary and Year 6 scholars on Nov 27.
“The children still deserve childhood memories and GOTS has decided a graduation ceremony would still be in order.
“Necessity is the mother of invention and we have come up with a formula so that the GOTS graduation can proceed, albeit virtually,” said co-founder Veronica Shepherdson.
“The parents have picked up their child’s graduation robes and certificates.
“We have given them a set of instructions as the children would each have to do a short presentation during the ceremony.
“It’s something new for all of us but we are confident of pulling off a wonderful graduation.”
